New 110,000 sq. ft, 2-Storey Paramedic Services Headquarters. The new Facility is being designed to accommodate all functional program and project requirements, including but not limited to the following:
Administration and office spaces
Common / shared spaces and storage
Technology, data, communications and building services/equipment rooms
Training facilities, locker rooms and amenity spaces
Event / hall space
Vehicle preparation (65 indoor vehicle parking + 1 large ESU parking) and supporting equipment storage, logistics support and operational support spaces
Ancillary spaces
Wash bay(s) and decontamination bay(s)
Regional Emergency Operations Center (REOC) and supporting spaces
Paramedic Services integrated/connected post station (double bay)
Halton Region is mandated by the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act to provide the necessary resources and to develop and implement an emergency management program. In the event of a large-scale emergency requiring a sustained coordinated response, the Regional Emergency Operations Centre may be activated to support incident response personnel and the communities and organizations they represent including:
Support incident response activities and responders at the site as well as other EOCs
Coordinate incident resources as well as inter-organizational activities and internal operations relating to an incident
Coordinate plans and planning for short and long-term needs.
Coordinate and command incident response directly from an EOC
Coordinate collaboration and communications between incident response organizations and additional EOCs
Share the responsibility with incident responders at the site and manage certain operations such as emergency shelters or points of distribution
