KDDI (Formerly Allied Properties) - Toronto DataCentre Carrier Hotels
TORONTO, ON (2017 - PRESENT)
As part of KDDI’s acquisition and rebranding of Allied Properties Mission Critical, Quasar has delivered electrical engineering upgrades across three of Toronto’s most critical data centre hotels: 151 Front, 250 Front, and 905 King. These sites form a dense, interlinked ecosystem, connected via dark fibre, and serve as the heart of Toronto’s carrier-neutral colocation and cloud interconnection hubs.
151 Front Street West is Canada’s largest colocation site (205,000 sq ft of IT space), with 20 MW of capacity, 2N UPS, Enwave district cooling, multiple redundant transformers, and advanced physical & biometric security systems.
250 Front Street West offers about 82,000 sq ft of IT capacity and supports 10 MW of power, with full UPS and generator backup, N+1 cooling, and direct interconnection into Telehouse’s dark fibre ring.
905 King Street West is connected via dark fibre links to the other two sites and enhances Telehouse’s network resilience in downtown Toronto.
Quasar’s upgrades across these facilities have centered on power and distribution enhancements, UPS and generator integration, and white space and security system upgrades, all performed under live, mission-critical constraints. Our designs ensure seamless interoperability with existing infrastructure, maintaining service continuity, resilience, and performance in high-stakes colocation environments.
