Core Cryolab Facility Renovation
MISSASSAUGA, ON, CA
The project involved the conversion of an existing 10,000 sq. ft. single-storey office and warehouse building into a bio-repository facility. The storage samples included cell lines, cord blood stem cells, organ and tissue samples, saliva, and other materials, which were stored in new cryogenic freezers operating at -190 degrees Celsius in the liquid nitrogen phase.
New dedicated air handling equipment and nitrogen leak detection systems were installed to ensure appropriate airflow purity and air changes, as well as to detect nitrogen leaks within the storage space. The freezers were supplied by a new bulk nitrogen tank storage and distribution system.
