Sanofi - B92 Acid Digestion Fume Hood Systems Audit and Replacement
NORTH YORK, ON, CA
Review of two existing fume hoods located in the Analytical Chemistry Laboratory of Building 92. These fume hoods are used for acid digestion processes involving the boiling off of acidic solutions (excluding perchloric acid). The study included a detailed site review of the existing conditions, culminating in a final report outlining the redesign required to address the identified issues.
As part of the report, a proof-of-concept test was performed prior to implementing the final recommendations. Following the completion of the report, the Quasar team executed the recommended design modifications. Since this building is a GMP vaccine production facility, the work also included the qualification, validation, and commissioning of the space. This process involved updates to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and sequences of operation for the fume hood exhaust system on both the GMP and non-GMP building automation systems.
