University of Ottawa, Multiple Projects
OTTAWA, ONTARIO
Since 2020, Quasar has served as a trusted engineering partner to the University of Ottawa, delivering full mechanical, electrical, and ICAT engineering services across a growing portfolio of more than 20 projects spanning the breadth of the campus. Our work has encompassed a diverse range of facility types, including laboratory renovations, dining hall upgrades, feasibility studies, council chambers, and sports and recreation centre improvements.
Most recently, Quasar provided engineering services for two notable campus projects. The VNR Computer Lab project involved converting underutilized space into new computer lab facilities for the Faculty of Social Sciences and School of Psychology, with our scope covering HVAC investigation and analysis, ventilation and cooling assessments based on revised occupancy and equipment loads, and a review of building automation and controls. The Learning Crossroads 4th Floor Renovation (CRX Building) transformed vacant shell space and four case-based learning rooms into two new classrooms accommodating 190 and 30 occupants respectively. Quasar's scope included assessment of the existing dual-duct HVAC system, ventilation and cooling load analysis, electrical distribution evaluation, lighting design, fire alarm coordination, and access control.
