City Centre Surgery

SURREY, BRITISH COLUMBIA

The project includes a new standalone private surgical facility (Facility Type A) and further classified as Class C-1 Health Care Facility (HCF). The clinic consisted of a fit-out that is approximately 20,000 sq. ft. and located on the fifth floor of a new building being constructed in City of Surrey.

The surgical clinic includes five (5) new operating rooms, 12 PACU bays with dedicated nurse stations, Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) Room, and other supporting clinical and staff spaces.  New electrical systems included dedicated normal power feed from the main building switchboard, dedicated CSA 282/CSA Z32 compliant life-safety generator and associated vital and delayed vital transfer switches and branch distribution for emergency power, and 20kW clinical UPS system to protect the most critical loads.

As required in a healthcare facility, a new Logistical Solutions Nurse Call System designed in coordination with the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons was installed for the space and included nurse call, code blue, dome light and both visual and audible alert devices for staff. New fire alarm devices, access control, and CCTV were expanded from the main building system but operated as standalone to ensure space was secured and structure cabling for voice, data and wireless systems.
