Microsoft - 5MW Data Centre Upgrades

Quasar provided electrical engineering design for 5MW of upgrades to an existing Microsoft data centre in Toronto, delivered in a live brownfield environment. The scope included integration of a new UPS system, standby generator, critical white space expansion, and overhead busway distribution, all within an operating facility where reliability and uptime were paramount.
Our design emphasized seamless integration with existing systems, concurrent maintainability, and phased implementation, ensuring Microsoft’s critical operations remained fully protected while new capacity was brought online.
