Resilient Infrastructure for TTC's Green Bus Program

TORONTO, ON, CA (2019)

As part of TTC’s bold Green Bus Program (toward a fully zero-emission fleet by 2040), Quasar delivered a mission-critical upgrade at TTC’s Arrow Road electric bus facility. The scope included design, installation, and commissioning of:

  • 6 MW natural gas, 4,160 V outdoor generator plant (six generators in parallel) with full synchronization and Toronto Hydro interconnection.

  • Backup power systems for simultaneous charging of up to 200 e-buses.

  • Resilient mechanical and electrical infrastructure engineered to maintain seamless operations through grid outages

This facility upgrade is a keystone in TTC’s strategy to scale up e-bus charging infrastructure while ensuring reliability under all conditions. Quasar’s role ensured that even during power disruptions, TTC can continue to support its growing electric fleet with confidence.
