OCH Shearwater Apartment Building
OTTAWA, ONTARIO
The Shearwater Project is a new 6-storey apartment building on Uplands Drive in Ottawa. The building integrates with the existing Ottawa Community Housing neighbourhood, utilizing current site access, services, and road networks. It includes a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, with surface parking distributed throughout the site. The project also involves demolishing a 9-unit, 3-storey townhouse building under a separate package.
OCH aims to exceed the 2015 National Building Code and National Energy Building Code by at least 55% in energy efficiency and emissions. Working alongside CSV Architects, the building is designed to Passive House Standards, the building prioritizes sustainability and high-performance construction, though certification is not anticipated.
