Winona Apartments

OTTAWA, ONTARIO

Quasar was engaged to provide comprehensive Mechanical and Electrical engineering services for a new rental residential development located at 377-381 Wynona Avenue in Ottawa.

The project involves the construction of a modern 60-Unit, 6-Storey residential apartment building, featuring commercial space on the ground floor and one level of underground parking. The total building area above ground encompasses approximately 47,500 square feet, including the ground floor commercial space.

The Design drew inspiration from warehouse conversions in New York to center the building on the history of the community. The interior reflects the legacy of one of the property’s original owners, William Lowry, who served as Westboro’s Postmaster in the late 1800s. The exterior features a classic red brick façade, and the fixtures and finishes are inspired by the original home. The ground floor will host a bespoke French restaurant named Elise after William Lowry’s wife, incorporating over 1000 square feet of brick from the original home into its design.

Quasar’s engineering expertise ensured the seamless integration of innovative building systems, supporting both residential and commercial functionality in this vibrant urban development.
