Brantford Police Headquarters Renovations and Expansion

BRANTFORD, ONTARIO

The renovations consist of approximately 50,000 sq. ft. of new expansion space over two (2) floors plus a major renovation of the existing 61,000 sq. ft. building. The project consists of a new 3 story tower containing a forensics lab with pressurized spaces to maintain separation, fitness and locker room areas, tech lab, offices, and a Communications centre. The renovated existing single storey building contains the main public lobby, shared community space, training spaces, the sally port and detention areas and associated support spaces. A key goal for the project was to meet City of Brantford Sustainability standards and meet Net Zero Carbon targets. The solution involved replacement of all existing fuel fired boilers, chillers and AHU's with air source heat pumps capable of heat recovery, dedicated outdoor air systems and fan coils along with EV charging for present day needs and provisions for future electrification of the BPS fleet.The project scope included a major upgrade to ICAT system with new structured cabling, new data centre and new electronic security systems all designed to meet the evolving needs of BPS.
