RCMP Detachments
FARO, YUKON/CARCROSS, YUKON / FORT ST. JAMES, BRITISH COLUMBIA
The scope of the project included the design, construction, commission and hand over of three (3) RCMP detachments in the Yukon and British Columbia. Each detachment had an area of approximately 9,000 ft2 and included a sally port, detention area, and administration support areas. Quasar was on the Project Delivery team and was responsible for interpreting the PDC documents and preparing the design and construction documents which took the traditional stick-build design and modified them to suit modular construction. All three (3) detachments were delivered using modular construction. Quasar’s scope included participation in User Group Meetings to finalize key criteria for preparation of the Construction Documents for Mechanical systems. Mechanical systems included in the design are HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and the geothermal field.
