Keepers of the Circle Headquarters and Resilience Centre

KIRKLAND LAKE, ONTARIO

Quasar Consulting Group is providing full mechanical, electrical, ICAT, building performance, and sustainability consulting services for the transformation of the Keepers of the Circle Headquarters into a net-zero energy facility in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. The project includes deep energy retrofits to the existing building as well as the design of a new 3,417 sq. ft. Resilience Centre expansion comprising six dormitory units with ensuite bathrooms and shared amenity spaces. Quasar’s work encompasses the design and integration of high-performance HVAC systems, BAS controls, lighting and lighting controls, plumbing and drainage, fire protection, power distribution, and life safety systems, all coordinated to support net-zero operational targets.


Building performance and sustainability services include energy modelling, life-cycle carbon assessment, renewable energy system sizing for solar PV and wind generation, and OBC SB-10 compliance. In parallel with design delivery, Quasar is supporting Indigenous capacity-building through the development and delivery of tailored green energy and retrofit training focused on HVAC systems, building assessment technologies, and renewable energy strategies. The project is intended to serve as a regional demonstration of resilient, low-carbon design and Indigenous-led sustainability leadership.
